Your teacher
Hello — I’m Isabel.
A native English speaker with 7 years of teaching experience. CELTA and TEFL certified. One-on-one IELTS teaching, online, anywhere in the world.

Hello! My name is Isabel. I'm an experienced English teacher supporting students for 7 years and counting. Specialising in IELTS preparation, I support students in achieving their target band scores through focused practice in speaking, writing, reading and listening. I'm passionate about making lessons clear, practical, and tailored to each student's goals.
Before I focused on IELTS, I spent years teaching English to children from all sorts of backgrounds — beginners through upper-intermediate, one-on-one and in small groups. That range taught me how to meet a learner where they are, explain the same concept five different ways, and keep a lesson moving when the textbook stops working.
I'm a dedicated and results-driven teacher, working with learners from diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels. I specialise in general English and IELTS preparation, holding TEFL and CELTA certifications as well as a 30-hour IELTS Preparation qualification.
My student-centred, goal-focused approach emphasises communicative practice, personalised lesson planning, and targeted exam strategies — helping learners build confidence, improve fluency and accuracy, and achieve higher IELTS band scores.
How I teach.
Four principles that shape every session, every correction, and every piece of written feedback.
01
I tell you what's costing marks
When your writing comes back, you'll know which criterion is pulling the band down and the one change that'll move it by the next attempt.
02
We spend the hour on the weak skill
If writing is the one that's lagging, that's what we work on. I'm not going to fill the hour with speaking practice you don't need.
03
You speak and write more than I do
Most of the session is you working on something with me correcting as we go. Less explaining, more doing.
04
I'll say if your deadline isn't realistic
If the target band isn't achievable in the weeks you have, I'll tell you in the trial lesson. Far better you hear it from me now than from the results page later.
A short timeline.
How the practice got here, briefly.

Focused on IELTS preparation
Shifted to IELTS-specific teaching after seeing how many students were failing on the per-skill minimums rather than overall English ability. Completed a 30-hour IELTS Preparation qualification to formalise the approach.
2025
